Movie Script 156

Movie Script 156

The dawn light through transparent lone leaf
Reveals the yellow circle on the underside.

Butterfly’s fluttering shadows obscure
the future funeral,
Moss-mixed greens, dark, light,
parade over the prediction.

It is a revelation like the dark spaces
in a star’s constellation.
Or seeing a distant, long, misty arm
in the empty air,

Becomes a memory of mandolins played
in al fresco cafés
When the wine was blind,
dark curls roamed around the carnation,

Blue wrinkled linen, folds still,
in the canopy’s whirlwind,
The conflict of the garland of gardenias
with the gardenia garden.
