Red Wine for Blue Rose

Image borrowed from Bing

Red Wine for Blue Rose

Blue Rose, track number eight;
Alcohol and musk.
Party's over, guests all gone.
His room, a fruitless husk.

In lieu of a long goodbye,
Uncomfortable impasse.
His turning head, robbed of lips
Imprinted on her glass.

Too shy, too stuck for words,
He held her in his mind,
Dancing without moving,
As he was so inclined.

He was a hopeless dreamer,
She lit his awful life.
His slender, burning taper
Was someone else's wife.
